The brief:

Sabin Consulting Engineers Ltd were appointed to work with The Cambian Group Plc for the delivery of a new build Educational Day Care Centre for pupils with varying degrees of autism aged between 11 and 16 years in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.

The new build project was completed in September 2015 it was a design requirement for the development to be compliant with Milton Keynes Councils objective for Sustainable Development document Policy D4.

The solution:

The services strategy includes the utilisation of high efficiency condensing gas boilers with variable speed pumping technology. Domestic hot water is produced via high efficiency hot water generators.

Electrically solutions included high efficiency lighting with intelligent controls.

The project also included a rainwater harvesting system that enables water to be collected and used for WC cisterns around the building.
