The brief
The project involved the refurbishment and extension of an existing property to provide a House of Multiple Occupancy (HMO) with 38No. residential furnished bedsits. This consists of 13No. units within the existing Manor House and 25No. within a new build extension.
The proposed scheme has 38 residential furnished bedsits operating as a ‘co-living’ community with various shared common rooms/ facilities on the ground floor of main Manor House including two large dining rooms, a tv/cinema room, games room and library.
The services strategy includes a high efficiency ground source heat pump serving underfloor heating within the accommodation areas. Heat recovery ventilation strategies. The provision of solar photovoltaic panels and the utilisation of high efficiency LED lighting with intelligent controls throughout.
