The brief:
Sabin Consulting Engineers Ltd were appointed by Uppingham School as M&E Consultants for a number of projects on their estate.
The projects included a major refurbishment project relating to two boarding houses, Fircroft and Farleigh, and also administration areas within the main school buildings. Uppingham School is a leading co-educational independent school that was founded in 1584 by Robert Johnson, the Archdeacon of Leicester.
The projects were undertaken throughout 2017 with the major items of work concentrated during the Easter and Summer holidays.
The solution:
The services strategy included the careful integration of new services into existing historical buildings. The provision of new domestic hot water installations to the boarding houses and utilisation of new high efficiency LED lighting throughout.
