Northampton General Hospital – LINAC Treatment Facility

Northampton

Client: Northampton General Hospital - NHS Trust

Completion: October 2015

The brief:

Sabin Consulting Engineers Ltd were appointed by Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust to undertake the design of the MEP services for the creation of a new LINAC cancer treatment facility at Northampton General Hospital. The project required the creation of a new facility to accommodate the very latest cancer treatment methods.

The solution:

The MEP services were designed in order to serve the built environment of the new LINAC Centre as well as providing the services connections to serve the new LINAC unit.

The LINAC Treatment Room required special consideration to ensure that the environmental constraints of the LINAC and associated X-Ray machines were met to ensure accurate operation. The project included chilled water, LPHW and ventilation installations. The electrical supply to the buildings were reconfigured to enable them to meet the demand of the medical equipment. The building was handed over in October 2015.
